I hadn’t realized that former power lifter turned professional golfer K.J. Choi had dropped some weight in the past year, but apparently he shed close to 15 lbs. Unhappy with a loss in strength and distance, however, Choi has added back the bulk, just in time for the “playoffs” at Ridgewood:
Choi feels good weighing about 188 pounds. He is back to eating rice and beans, staples of the Korean diet, while also continuing to eat lean protein and vegetables.
“The good thing about him losing weight is he felt a lot lighter and compact,” said [manager/interpreter Michael] Yim. “But he didn’t realize he was losing distance simultaneously. But with his gaining a little weight back, his strength is increasing as well.”
